When is black and white the best option for your photograph? Interesting question right? The inference being there is one best option for a final version of any photograph. While I don’t subscribe to the “one best option” idea, I do feel that a black and white version of a photograph can sometimes be the version I most prefer. For example, the scene in the following image is from Monahans Sandhills State Park in Texas. My first version included a muted color palette and low contrast and while I liked the feel, there didn’t seem to be a focus or point to the image. I experimented with different crops and felt better about it but still not in love. Then I decided to create a black and white version and voila! Using Silver Effects Pro, I finally created an image which communicated what I saw.
