Promoting wildlife Wednesday with nature photography. You can see how the Curve-billed Thrasher got its name. I might have named it Fierce-eyed Thrasher because those eyes are penetrating. These birds rarely stand still. However, this one was happy to partake of the birdseed I had provided and allowed me to get off a few shots.

Whale Tail in Auke Bay

Our Alaskan whale watching tour was a success with several sightings of Humpbacks. One pair came very close to our boat, causing a few squeals and creating quite a stir on board. While there were no full breaches, I was able to get a few shots of tails as the whales prepared to dive.
