Above a weathered stone shelter and a bare, twisted tree, the night sky turns in great circular trails of starlight, wheeling around the North Star. A faint glow of light lingers along the horizon, warming the edge of the darkness.
Much of the park's rustic stonework was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, and here that sturdy craftsmanship stands beneath a sky in constant motion. The image reveals the turning of the Earth itself, made visible over hours, set against some of the darkest and clearest skies in Texas.
