A roseate spoonbill crosses an open, luminous sky, wings raised high, neck stretched forward toward its destination. Its pink plumage softens at the edges into the pale blue-white around it, as if the bird were painted in a single breath of watercolor.
Shaped in the studio into an airy, high-key composition, the work removes everything but flight itself. There is no horizon and no ground, only movement, color, and light, leaving the viewer with the feeling of a moment glimpsed overhead and gone.
