Two bicycles rest side by side against an old brick wall, their wicker baskets still fixed to the handlebars as if their riders had stepped away only a moment ago. It is an ordinary scene, the kind easily passed on the way to somewhere else, yet it holds the eye: the gentle lean of the frames, the woven curve of the baskets, the quiet companionship of two objects left at rest.
Rendered in black and white, the image turns its attention to surface and touch, the weathered patina of the brick, the grain of the wicker, the worn metal of fenders and spokes. What lingers is a sense of memory, of unhurried afternoons and errands made on two wheels, a quiet nostalgia that feels both specific and familiar.
